In order to disable the autoplay of videos in Google Chrome, click on the Menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner and select “Settings.” It will take you to the settings panel.
Once in the settings panel, scroll down and click on “Show advanced settings…” It will expand the advanced settings that you can manage for your browser.
You should now see a button that says “Content settings…” Click on it, and it will let you modify the content settings for your browser.

Modify the content settings for your browser.
On the next screen, under the “Plug-ins” header, there’s an option that says “Click to play.” Just tick-mark this option and then click on “Done.” It will save the settings for you.
Under the 'Plug-ins' header, there's an option that says 'Click to play.'
And you are done.
Those annoying videos will no longer automatically play in your browser, as the option has just been disabled by you.

If you use Mozilla Firefox and are sick of seeing videos playing automatically even though you are not interested in them, here’s how you can disable it:
Launch Mozilla Firefox on your computer and then type the following address into the address bar and press Enter. Do it as if you’re visiting a normal website.
about:addons
Go to about:addons in Mozilla Firefox.
There should be a couple of categories on the left-hand side. Click on the one that says “Plugins” as that is where the option for disabling the aforementioned function is located.
Click on the 'Plugins' option.
On the plugins page, you should see a plugin named “Shockwave Flash.” There should be a drop-down menu next to it with a couple of options. What you need to do is click that drop-down menu and select “Ask to Activate.” It will now only enable the Shockwave Flash content after getting your consent.
Select 'Ask to Activate' for Shockwave Flash content in Firefox.
And there you go.
The video autoplay feature is now disabled in your Firefox and you can confirm it for yourself by visiting any website that contains some videos. You should see that they now require your permission to play; they don’t play automatically like before. Your task is done.
